FAQ
What is the difference between open password and owner password?
The open password decides whether the file can be opened; the owner password decides whether the permission settings can be changed. When you only set an open password, a random owner password is generated and the permissions can never be changed again.
What if I forget the password?
A password cannot be read back from the file, it can only be recovered by brute force. Try our PDF Password Recovery tool.
How strong is the encryption?
Standard PDF RC4 128-bit encryption (R=3), compatible with Adobe Acrobat and most readers.
